Square Enix telah mengumumkan versi demo dari Star Ocean The Second Story R telah tersedia untuk PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, dan PC (Steam). Versi demo Star Ocean The Second Story R akan menyediakan tiga kota, dua dungeon, dan dua boss fight untuk dicoba oleh pemain.
Berikut adalah keterangan lengkap tentang hal-hal apa saja yang tersedia pada versi demo Star Ocean The Second Story R:
- Play up to 3 hours with a single save data
- Create up to 3 save data files
- Trophies / Achievements are not unlocked on any platform in the demo version, but will gradually unlock upon transferring the save data to the full version
- No EXP, FOL, SP and BP will be obtained when characters reach level 12
- Access to certain maps on the field map are not available
- Enhance of the growth elements “IC/Special Skills” that consume SP are not available
- Only “Beginner” level challenge missions will be unlocked
- The opening movie is not included
